Budgeting Excel Spreadsheet (Example)

This is my version of an excel spreadsheet for a Wedding. I have left 900 pounds over as savings. This could be saved or used as collateral. If anything was to be over budget or to break/not fit this money  could be used so they could be altered or re ordered.  It is could to over estimate your budget as it is better to have more than enough than not enough.

These are some examples I have found on the Internet of other weddings budget sheets.

Mad Hatters Tea Party: Reflective Diary

5th October 2013

An Event always needs an image and my team and I have decided to set up social media pages and a website. The idea behind this is to remain in the public eye with a positive and clear image.

9th October 2013

We have so far managed to design a logo for our company website and have put up the website. It is my job to design a Twitter background and logo. I am taking into consideration the style we want to achieve with the overall event and also how simplistic and aesthetically pleasing it will be to a wide audience. In keeping with traditional colours of Alice In Wonderland I have decided to use blues and pinks however to give a very performance based feel I am using typography that has a broad black look that has connotations of the theatrical entertainment industry. We have arranged a meeting for Thursday the 10th which is tomorrow. I hope to have completed my job roles by this time so we can get the website up as quickly as efficiently as possible as we do not have much time to create an image and a relationship with our target audience. However as I am done most of the design I will finish it off tonight and set it to a member of my team that has set up the websites and social media pages. In addition to this I need to design a poster which will need to be printed and distributed as quickly as possible. However I need to chase up the agreed dates and information from another team.

26/27th October 2013

I designed the Twitter, Facebook and Website headers banners and columns. I spoke with Jordan over Facebook as I went along as to what we should consider in the design. I thought of when I had read the book Alice in Wonderland and there was a constant reference to roses and flowers. There for I decided to look at pictures I had taken of flowers to use for a muted background. Jordan and I also decided on pantone pastel colours for our overall colour range as we felt this fitted the delicacy and style of Alice in Wonderland. We have done this in consultation with the rest of the event team and they have agreed on this. It is important to look in hindsight at the schedule of our social media site and we need to launch the site with enough time for public to hear of the event before it is live so they have time to decide whether they are going or not.

29th October 2013

Launch Website, Twitter & Facebook

On the 29th we launched the social media side of our advertising campaign. This is an important part of an advertising campaign and will hopefully greatly increase our audience base and revenue. Social media is an important part of advertising because it will keep people informed regularly on our current and up and coming events.

31st October 2013

Poster Design

On the 31st I designed the posters, outside of college and sent the initial design for printing.

1st November 2013

Shown 1st Design to team

On the 1st Jordan showed the 1st poster design to the team and decided not to run the campaign he there for re-designs the posters to cater for our target audience. It is always important to get feed back from your client or a 3rd person. When designing the poster we tried to take into consideration what the client/team wanted. They wanted a specific colour theme and also wanted to create a theme that responded to the stereotypical qualities of the original book.
However when we pitched our poster people felt that it did not achieve this. They wanted  a more iconic style to it instead of the decorative flowers and pinks I had chosen. They wanted to see a more simple colour scheme with the iconic playing card on it.

2nd November 2013

Re-Design Posters

Today Jordan and I redesigned the posters for the event and confirmed that they would be the final design. It is very important to redesign posters and themes so we can have the most eye catching design possible so that people will be attracted to the idea of the event and well as going. It is also important to compromise on poster design with your client so you achieve what they want as well as what the designer would like.

4th November 2013

Launch Poster Campaign

On the 4th we launched our poster campaign around the college. As our event is taking place during college hours and our main target audience is the college students and staff so we have put up posters in the most populated areas of college where people will see them every day and constantly be reminded of the event. This will intern raise more money.

6th November 2013

Event Day

On the 6th we set up a live poster and menu above the event projected on the wall. This was to add an aesthetic quality to the set up of the cake stands. It would also hopefully attract attention to the area and people will be able to understand what we're doing.
